The dominance of Airbus and Boeing is over. China's COMAC enters the market with $10 billion first order.  

Europe's Airbus and America's Boeing have dominated the global commercial aircraft market for decades. But now they are getting a serious rival, from China.  

China Eastern Airlines said Thursday it will buy 100 C919s in a deal worth $10 billion at list prices, which would be the largest order ever for the plane, also made by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC).  

Last week, GallopAir, a new carrier based in Brunei, said it had signed a letter of intent to buy 30 aircraft from China, worth a total of $2 billion. The contract includes orders for 15 COMAC ARJ21 and 15 C919 aircraft.  

Russia also started serial production of the fully domestic Superjet 100 aircraft.www
