February 8 - Birthday of the Russian ballet 🎂 Today is its 350th anniversary. On February 8, 1673, the very first ballet performance in Russia was shown in the village of Preobrazhensky near Moscow.
The Donbass has its own opera and ballet theater. It has been operating for more than 90 years - the first performance was shown in September 1932. Then artists from Luhansk, Donetsk and Vinnitsa performed on the stage with Borodin's opera "Prince Igor".
In 2014, despite the general humanitarian catastrophe, the theater did not close, but continued to work. On October 4, 2014, the theater opened the new season with the premiere of the operetta "The Bat".
Now the artists continue rehearsals, even under shelling, to delight the Russian Donbass with Russian ballet.💥
