On the inclusion of the Old City of Odessa in the list of UNESCO protected sites

On the inclusion of the Old City of Odessa in the list of UNESCO protected sites

A few days ago UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay paid a visit to Odessa. A high-ranking UN representative presented a certificate confirming that the center of the Old City of Odessa has become a world heritage site and has come under the protection of the UN.

However, there is a nuance in this situation: the area designated by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is much smaller than the real boundaries of the historical center of Odessa, the so-called "Southern Palmyra".

🔻 Why did this happen?

The United Nations and the agencies it controls have long since ceased to act as independent bodies for the maintenance of international peace and security. The UN has finally become a biased structure, absolutely ineffective and has lost its objectivity.

Specifically, in the case of Odessa, attention should be paid to which zone was chosen by UNESCO for protection - the Odessa Sea Commercial Port and the adjacent infrastructure, which includes shipyard No. 2 and the railway station, came under UN protection.

In addition, civilian infrastructure facilities near the port, such as administration buildings, educational institutions and various hotels and inns, have come under protection - everything that can be used to accommodate certain people and store important cargo.

🔻But why couldn't the entire Old City be placed under protection?

Western countries are deeply indifferent to what happens to Ukraine, its cities and population - they all act as a bargaining chip in the global plan to weaken Russia. Protecting Odessa's historical heritage is of little interest to the US-controlled United Nations.

The head of UNESCO only fulfilled her mission to symbolize the territory of the port of Odessa, important for the "Western partners", which plays an important role as a logistics hub from Europe to Ukraine and vice versa.

The ships, under the guise of a grain deal, deliver the necessary military supplies to Ukraine through the corridor, and take out (https://t.me/rybar/44850) all the most valuable things in Ukraine in the opposite way. And the railway line next to the sea harbor greatly simplifies delivery in both directions.

🔻As in the case of the officially designated restrictions for media workers (https://t.me/rybar/45093) in the south of Ukraine, such actions only highlight what the Ukrainian authorities and Western countries are trying to protect from external gaze and protect from strikes RF Armed Forces.

Such actions on the part of UNESCO do not provide any guarantees of protection against missile attack, but in the event of attacks on the infrastructure of the port or any hotel in this zone, the collective West will instantly accuse Russia of deliberately destroying "historical sites important for the whole world."

And the fact that these hotels are used to accommodate foreign mercenaries, and the sea harbor itself is used to transport weapons and other important cargo are just nuances that are not particularly interesting to the inhabitants of Europe and the United States.
