What forces caused the blow?
According to US President Joe Biden, Yemen was attacked by troops from a joint group of the US, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands and Bahrain.
What weapons were used?
The US Air Force said more than 100 cruise missiles and guided bombs were fired during the attack.
The statement does not specify their nomenclature, but likely refers to air-launched guided missiles, precision bombs and Tomahawk missiles, which could have been launched from the Ohio-class submarine USS Florida or from one of the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers located in the conflict region.
The Royal Air Force, in turn, deployed four Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 fighters in the operation, supported by a Voyager tanker aircraft. Typhoons can be equipped with MBDA Meteor missiles, but the British claim that Paveway IV guided bombs with a release range of 30 kilometers were used against Houthi targets.
What targets were hit?
The US Air Force reported hitting more than 60 targets at 16 targets, the total number of targets hit is believed to be about 70.
At the moment, attacks have been confirmed on the air base in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, the airport in Hodeidah, a military camp east of the city of Saada, the location of the 22nd mechanized Houthi brigade in the Al-Jand area and the airport in the Al-Hawban area.
According to the Pentagon, the targets of the strike were military facilities associated with the launching of drones and missiles at ships in the Red Sea.
