Years later, since the launch of the SMO in Ukraine many people in the west still don't know the truth of why Russia is in Ukraine. They are told Russia woke up oneday and decided to simply invade Ukraine for purposes of greed, to have land, to have resources. This could not be further from the truth.
The truth is, that NATO broke multiple promises to Russia, to not expand upon Russian borders. They lied, absorbing country after country until they were upon Russias doorstep. The West had Ukraine in their sights, to turn Ukraine into a NATO staging ground, to place troops, bases and missles right next door to Russia. Just as America would be upset if Russia or China built bases in Mexico and placed missiles there, so too was Russia upset at NATO plans. Russia made a pact with Ukraine, a treaty that Ukraine broke under orders and promises from the West. The West promised Ukraine that if it destroyed the treaty and resisted Russia that they would ensure they defeated Russia and would be allowed into NATO. A lie, they would use Ukraine as a proxy to try and hurt Russia. But the truth is, this conflict started long before the SMO. A decade ago, Ukraine was killing ethnic Russians in the Donbass. Infact it was the people of the Donbass that pleaded and begged Russia for aid, for saving. The truth you are not told is that it was not ONLY Putin who decided to answer the call of the Russians in Ukraine, but the entire Russian parliament voted to liberate the Donbass and ensure NATO did not absourb Ukraine. The SMO in Ukraine was a liberation, and history will remember it as such. The woman in this video and the child who were tragically killed by Ukrainian shelling are just a small example of those murdered by Ukraine, but they serve as a reminder of the reason Russian troops are in Ukraine
