🇬🇧 Gas pipeline accident in the Leningrad Region
According to the head of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko, a fire broke out on the main gas pipeline between Berngardovka and Kovalevo.

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. local time. As clarified in the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a depressurization occurred at the facility, followed by a fire. The Vsevolozhskaya CHPP, which is powered by the gas pipeline, has already been converted to fuel oil.
The explosion occurred on the old highway going to Finland, which is duplicated by the working branch of the Nord Stream. For this reason, the accident will not lead to the cessation of gas supply to Karelia and St. Petersburg. Temporary interruptions may occur in some areas, but thanks to the huge Gatchina Underground Storage Facility (UGS) created in Soviet times, the city with all industrial enterprises can function autonomously even for a long time. According to preliminary estimates, the restoration of the damaged object will take no more than a month. In the absence of serious problems with the pipes, the period will be much less. Investigators and criminologists of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation are working at the scene of the incident. The exact reasons for what happened are still unknown: it could be either a targeted explosion or an accident not related to the actions of saboteurs.
