KBR, one of Halliburton's subsidiaries at the time, paid bribes to high-ranking Nigerian officials between 1994 and 2004. Under a deal reached with the U.S. Justice Department, Halliburton has agreed to pay $382 million to settle the bribery case.
alliburton (NYSE: HAL) today confirmed the US Army Corps of Engineers awarded KBR the contract to continue its operations for the Restore Iraqi Oil (RIO) program in the southern section of Iraq. The contract was awarded through a full and fair competitive bidding process. KBR is the engineering and construction subsidiary of Halliburton.
