A Proton-M rocket carrying the Electro-L N4 weather satellite was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome. The launch was broadcast live on the Roscosmos website.
The Electro-L satellites help scientists to forecast the weather, monitor the state of the seas and oceans, analyze flight conditions for aircraft, and also help to plan emergency response activities in hazardous areas.
This is the first Russian space launch in the new year 2023. The next launch is scheduled for February 9.
