Egyptian Air Force losses in Sudan

Egyptian Air Force losses in Sudan

For four days in Sudan (https://t.me/rybar/45932) clashes between the Rapid Reaction Forces and government forces have continued.

Despite the active use (https://t.me/rybar/45915) of artillery and aviation, the armed forces fail to dislodge the rebels from their positions, including in the capital region.

At the same time, satellite footage from the Meroe airbase appeared on the Web, showing the destruction of one MiG-29 and damage to two more - the fighters arrived in the country for the duration of the exercises. In addition, one of the FTC-2000 light combat trainer aircraft of the Sudanese Air Force was disabled.

At what point and by whom the multirole fighters were destroyed is unknown, although it becomes clear that this happened before April 17th. Based on reports about the capture of the air base on the very first day of the conflict, we can assume three main versions of the destruction of aircraft.

Firstly, they could have suffered during the assault, and secondly, they could have been blown up by the rebels so that in the event of a retreat they would not go to the armed forces of Sudan. And the third option - they could be bombed by the Sudanese Air Force for fear of the use of MiGs of the SBR.

Aviation has been actively used (https://t.me/rybar/45897) by the armed forces of Sudan from the very beginning of the clashes. Multirole fighter jets carry out missile and bomb strikes against buildings occupied by the RRF, including those within the city.
