🇮🇱🇵🇸 After the Israeli troops occupied the Rafah checkpoint and surrounding areas, the further offensive actually stopped. IDF soldiers are assigned to the site and carry out explosions of the discovered underground Hamas tunnels.

At the same time, Israeli aircraft are carrying out massive strikes on several areas of Rafah : footage of both huge columns of smoke and destroyed buildings is published on the Internet. According to the latest data, about 30 people died in the city during the day.

In turn, Palestinian forces continue to fire at IDF positions and border kibbutzim. However, so far the militants have not been able to boast of effectiveness - not a single Israeli evacuation helicopter has been spotted in the area of shelling.

🔻Meanwhile, negotiations between the Israeli and Palestinian delegations are still ongoing in Cairo . It is significant that earlier Hamas representatives announced an immediate breakdown of all negotiations in the event of an IDF attack on Rafah, but after the Israelis occupied the checkpoint, the discussions only intensified.

However, at the moment there is no talk about the success of the negotiation process. Especially against the backdrop of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements that Hamas’s proposals are far from the necessary requirements, while the Palestinians for the most part accepted the previously put forward conditions of the Israeli side.

And as we have already noted , for the ultra-Orthodox government, the continuation of the war and the final solution to the Palestinian issue is a matter of survival. Therefore, even if the delegations miraculously manage to reach a consensus, this will only mean a short-term respite in the conflict.
