DAMASCUS, SYRIA (12:29 PM) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) backed by allies from Hezbollah, the Palestinian “Quds Brigade, and other paramilitaries achieved yet another important push in Palmyra’s eastern countryside capturing the Talilah Reserve area in its entirety.
Located 13 km south of the recently captured village of Arak, the Talilah Reserve is considered an important launchpad to launch assaults onto the strategic T3 Facility. The aforementioned base has proved to be a hurdle for the government forces which have failed to capture after two attacks.
From their commanding positions in Talilah, the government troops can now attack the T3 Airbase from the southwestern axis in addition to the northern axis from the direction of Arak. Should ISIS fail to defend the base, its presence in southern Palmyra would be threatened and the terrorist group would be forced to retreat to the mountains overlooking Arak and Sakhna.
