Ten documentaries about how the military conflict in Ukraine began.

Maidan: Road to War  (https://t.me/rtdocfilms/6)

Exclusive interviews with participants and witnesses of the Maidan. How did protests in Kyiv turn into confrontation and lead to a split in the country? Who was interested in this? And was it possible to prevent the war in the Donbass? Watch the film to find out how it all started.

Donbass War: Summer 2014  (https://t.me/rtdocfilms/9)

Stories of civilians of Donbass about Ukrainian atrocities they’ve endured for the past eight years. People lost a roof over their heads, and many lost loved ones. Footage of battles and destruction that remained after the Ukrainian military.

Fast Forward to Fascism  (https://t.me/rtdocfilms/24)

Rare videos from Ukrainian children’s camps, where schoolchildren are made into Nazis, sing about Bandera and tell their own, alternative history. Torchlight processions, nationalist heroes. How did the legacy of the terrible ideology take root in Ukraine and develop?

Donbass War: Airport. Part 1 (https://t.me/rtdocfilms/16) and Part 2 (https://t.me/rtdocfilms/17)

One of the bloodiest battles between the militia and the Ukrainian military was the battle for Donetsk airport in 2014. It is located within the city, and Kiev wanted to keep this point by all means. The Ukrainian military used the airport to shell Donetsk, not sparing even civilians. In the film - burnt houses, numerous victims of shelling, stories of militias who took up arms to defend their land.

Donbass: Battle of Debaltsevo  (https://t.me/rtdocfilms/104)

Residents of Debaltsevo share their memories of the robberies and murders by the Azov fighters and how they managed to survive during the fierce battle between Ukraine and the militia in 2014-2015. The city was of strategic importance. After all, if Kyiv had seized it, then the communication between Lugansk and Donetsk would have been almost completely cut off. Shelling and destruction of city blocks, tears and fear of people who lost everything in one moment. Look at their stories and draw your own conclusions.

Trauma  (https://t.me/rtdocfilms/43)

This documentary was filmed in 2015. Real footage of the work of Donetsk doctors under the bullets of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at the risk of their lives. They did not distinguish between civilians, militias and the Ukrainian military. Our film crew was able to get on the trips of one of the teams on duty and witnessed what doctors deal with every day.

Donbass: The Grey Zone and Trapped  (https://t.me/rtdocfilms/7)

In the “grey zone” - the area next to the front line - a first-grader could determine by the sound which projectile was fired by the Ukrainian military. Here, the PE class was life-threatening because it was held on the street. A battle-scarred school with shrapnel in the wall has children growing up early. So people lived here all eight years.

Donbass. Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow  (https://t.me/rtdocfilms/12)

Many graves of civilians, including children, who died due to Ukrainian shelling. Who needed a war in the Donbass? Why did the West refuse to notice the killings? The film tells about Kiev’s ‘anti-terrorist operation’ and the lawlessness of Ukrainian nationalists and military battalions. The film’s subjects are foreign journalists trying to convey the truth to their colleagues, volunteers from abroad who came to protect people in the Donbass, and doctors who save lives every day.
