DETAILED CHRONOLOGY OF RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN SERBIA, KOSOVO AND METHIOPIA

In Kosovo and Metohija, pre-registration requirements for number plates, which were introduced unilaterally by the Pristina authorities*, have entered into force.

Previously, the drivers covered Serbian national symbols only with special stickers when entering the region.

Now vehicle owners are obliged to change their vehicles from Serbian to so-called Kosovo number plates.

🔻 Residents of Kosovo refuse to do so, a campaign has been launched in northern Kosovo under the slogan "KM stays".

- At exactly midnight on 1 November, police began issuing specially designed "warning" forms to Serbs.

- The regime will remain in effect until 21 November, after which the so-called Kosovo Security Forces will start issuing fines.

- In April, all cars belonging to residents of the self-proclaimed republic and not arranged according to the Kosovo model will be outlawed. However, tensions in the province have already begun to rise rapidly.

▪️ The Serbian army is again put on alert. On 1 November, unidentified drones entered the country's airspace on the border with the self-proclaimed republic. And the next day a commercial drone had to be shot down over one of the army's military units - it was recording the location of Serbian military units.

▪️ Kosovo* Serbian police officers refused en masse to issue "warnings" to their fellow citizens about number plate changes and fines. In response, the prime minister of the self-proclaimed republic fired Serb Nenad Djuric, who was the head of the regional North branch, and accused him of "sabotage" and "inciting resistance".

- In protest, at a meeting today, in the presence of Aleksandar Vučić and Serbian government representatives, Kosovo Serbs serving in the police took off their shoulder straps and uniforms, surrendering all their credentials.

- The deputy prime minister of the unrecognized republic and the leader of the Kosovo Serbs, head of the Serb List party, announced his resignation.

- Serb representatives also walked out of all institutions in Kosovo and said they would leave until Pristina's illegal pre-registration decision is overturned.

🔻 Furthermore, they demand that the Kosovo authorities* comply with the Brussels agreements of 2013 and form a Union of Serbian Municipalities.

However, judging by Albin Kurti's rhetoric, Kosovo officials will not comply with the terms of the agreement.

Tomorrow, protests of Serbs are planned in several cities of Kosovo and Metohija. According to local sources, the Kosovo special forces are again concentrating their forces in the north of the province in order to suppress them. This means that a peaceful protest has a good chance of turning into another conflict.
