Escalation in Serbia, Kosovo and Metohija
The situation at the end of December 23, 2022
Exactly two weeks have passed since the Serbs, in protest against the terror of the Pristina authorities, erected the first barricades in the north of Kosovo and Metohija. Roads in eight settlements are still blocked, and there are more and more people at collection points.
▪️ In Rudar, where a tent camp was previously opened, a large-scale protest rally took place yesterday (https://t.me/rtbalkan_ru/920) under the slogan "Kurti, Kosovo and Metohija are not your dowry - this is our Fatherland."
According to various estimates, up to ten thousand people came to the rally, columns of cars arrived all day from Zvecan, Zubin Potok and North Mitrovica. The protesters demanded the release of previously arrested Serbs (https://t.me/rybar/42069), who defiantly left their positions in the Kosovo police.
▪️ Border checkpoints "Jarinje" and "Brnjak" on the administrative line are still closed. In addition, the Kosovo security forces began to block roads in the north of Kosovo and Metohija.
❗️ On the road near the bridge to Balban, a checkpoint (https://t.me/rtbalkan_ru/919) of the Kosovo police has appeared, which actually cuts off two settlements in the north of the province with a Serbian majority - Zvecan and Mitrovica.
