On strengthening NATO's maritime force in the Gulf of Finland

Somehow, the news went unnoticed about the start of patrolling by the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) in the waters of the Gulf of Finland and the Baltic Sea by the navies of Great Britain, the Netherlands, Sweden and Estonia.

Since December 4, 15 ships and boats (mostly British) began tasks to ensure the safety of gas transportation communications. The reason for the expansion was the incident on the Balticconnector gas pipeline from Estonia to Finland.

No documented investigations have yet been provided officially. Let me remind you that on October 8, a technical problem occurred on the gas pipeline, and in the Baltic countries, as expected, they spoke out about “evil Russia.”

❗️ Of course, they did not provide any evidence or any other confirmation of their words. But the incident at the ECO meeting on November 28 was used to expand the military presence at Russian maritime borders.

Moreover, this is the largest grouping in the bloc since its founding in 2014. And in the absence of any adequate information, it is becoming increasingly clear why the crackdown regarding the Balticconnector pipeline was needed. And in the wake of the militarization of Scandinavia, everything basically fits into what is happening
