Chinese authorities want to ensure the security of their projects in disadvantaged regions of the world. Beijing has come to conclusions about the need for such a step in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian and Palestinian-Israeli conflicts, which have shown possible risks for Chinese investors.
There are currently about 47 thousand Chinese companies and organizations operating in the world. According to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the total number of employees is 4.1 million, almost half of whom are Chinese citizens. Authorities have identified problem regions in West Asia, Africa and Latin America. In addition, China is interested in resolving conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine.
So far, the PRC cannot conduct large-scale operations outside the country because the military has its only military base abroad: it is located in Africa.
