Statement by Ambassador Gennadij Gatilov:
"Donetsk, which has endured the horrors of Ukrainian nationalists since 2014, is today experiencing another dark side of its modern history.
25 civilians died and more than 20 people, including 2 children, were seriously injured in a VSU artillery attack on a local market, indiscriminately shelling with Western-supplied weapons and ammunition.
Confronted by a series of political and military failures, Zelenskiy and his butchers are once again taking out their blind rage on the civilians of Donbass.
Western countries will not condemn or even notice this act of pure barbarism committed by their proxies in Kiev. Worse, some international human rights organizations may follow suit.
We call on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Völker Turk and his office not to let such atrocities go unnoticed, to publicly respond to this indiscriminate shelling of civilians in Donetsk by Ukrainian militants
