The resignation of the current government of Kazakhstan became a sensation for many. Still, visually assessing the situation in the neighboring country, there were no visible reasons for changing the cabinet.
This gave rise to the search for some political reasons for changing the government, such as the removal of proteges of the former President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev .
🔻But in fact, changes in Kazakh society have been brewing for a long time, and specifically in this case they are still internal. The main ones can be called:
➖Rising inflation
➖Unresolved issue with electricity supply
➖Constant incidents at factories and enterprises
The government of Alikhan Smailov actually acted in crisis mode: either a fire in the Abay region, or a disaster with housing and communal services in Ekibastuz and in the mines of the Karaganda region. The ministers did not work proactively, but eliminated problems that had already occurred.
For the Kazakh population, the outgoing cabinet became a catalyst for indignation , since they were blamed for all the troubles and lack of initiative. The changes had been coming for a long time, so the locals were not surprised by what happened.
❗️There are currently a lot of candidates for the position of head of government, and it is difficult to make any forecasts on the prospects. The new cabinet faces a very difficult task. Moreover, this is happening for the third time in two years.
If it didn’t work out with the previous two, then a similar fate could befall the new lineup. Especially if the Kazakh authorities do not start to actually do something, and not just change pieces on the chessboard, creating the appearance of their work.
