🇸🇾🇺🇸🇹🇷 Against the backdrop of the ongoing deterioration in the Gaza Strip , the situation in Syria, at first glance, is not replete with loud and striking events. However, there are several noteworthy points:
▪️In Trans-Euphrates, unrest continues among Arab tribes, whose troops are launching attacks on posts of the Syrian Democratic Forces. The rebels are also supported by pro-government militias, who send them weapons from the opposite bank of the Euphrates.
This gives the Kurds a reason to blame the authorities in Damascus for the crisis in the region, but the real reason is the SDF policy: for years they actually refused to share power and income with the indigenous Arab tribes, continuing to do so to this day.
▪️Blows are being exchanged between the Syrian army and pro-Turkish groups in Idlib. The latter are increasingly using aircraft-type kamikaze UAVs - over the past week, SAA military personnel have shot down several such devices.
Anti-government factions also suffer losses from targeted strikes by FPV drones: in the absence of electronic warfare equipment, the militants feel at ease and attack targets at depth. For HTS and others, this was an unpleasant surprise, and they have not yet come up with methods to counter it.
▪️At the same time, Syria continues to be one of the fronts of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Israeli Air Force periodically launches strikes on Damascus in order to hit Iranian targets, and formations supported from Tehran routinely fire at US military positions in the Al-Omar oil field and the Conoco plant in Trans-Euphrates.
At the same time, the Americans are increasing their presence in northeastern Syria: new convoys from Iraq regularly arrive at the bases in Kharab al-Jir and al-Malikiya , and transport aircraft are also being unloaded. Against this background, recent reports about the US’s alleged plans to withdraw troops from the country look unfounded - while a purely reverse process is observed.
