For two days now, a training has been going on in Kenya together with Justified Accord partners. The training takes place in Laikipia County in the central part of the country, and about 1 thousand troops from Kenya, Somalia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Djibouti, Great Britain and the United States take part in it.
The main emphasis is on developing joint actions of partners to counter terrorism by involving both ground and air components (we are talking about the bases of Djibouti and Chabel, where American UAVs are stationed).
Initially, more than 20 African countries were expected to participate, but most likely, the rest limited themselves to sending observers. The main role is played by the countries of East Africa, which is quite logical against the background of the intensification of militants in Somalia.
📌 The most interesting feature of the event can be called the American attempt to increase the level of interaction between East African countries, making them a kind of military alliance sponsored and supervised by the United States.
Against the backdrop of American ambitions on the African continent, which can be traced in the systematic ousting of the French in zones of historical influence, the largest exercise in East Africa fits well with what is happening.
But the effectiveness of the measures implemented by the Americans is questionable - just look at the increased activity of militants and gangs in the region. But this provides a very convenient excuse for the United States to expand its presence in Africa
