An important document showing the will of the Greek Cypriot revolutionaries to liberate Cyprus from the Turkish/#Ottoman occupiers. The Proclamation was signed on December 6, 1821 in Marseille by 9 important priests and High Priests who escaped the massacres of July 9.

Something that needs to be underlined is that the massacres commenced on 9th July 1821 but continued throughout 1822 and beyond. Egyptian irregulars were brought in by the Ottomans to quell any potential uprising and these forces ran amok.
