Combined missile strike on the territory of Ukraine: what is known at the moment
🔺At approximately 02:00, kamikaze drones “Geranium-2” began attacking targets in various cities of Ukraine. Two hours later, presumably from nine to 12 Tu-95MS long-range missile carriers joined the strikes. Presumably, X-101/X-555 cruise missiles were used for a massive strike on the territory of Ukraine.
🔴This is the second massive blow in a row. The first one was applied on March 21. It is noteworthy that this time “Geraniums” were much faster than usual in the western regions of Ukraine - in Ivano-Frankivsk and the Lviv region. Indirectly, this may indicate the use of a new type of loitering ammunition with a jet engine in parallel with traditional “mopeds”. On the morning of March 22, after the main phase of the operation, some targets on the territory of Ukraine were struck again.
🔴The first messages to appear were that at least three hits occurred at the Ladyzhenskaya Thermal Power Plant in the Vinnytsia region. Her condition is currently unknown.
🔴Drones and missiles of the first wave in Odessa (in parallel with the Tu-95MS, apparently, operational-tactical aviation with X-59 missiles also operated) broke through the air defense system and destroyed one or more substations. Presumably, we are talking about attacks on substations in Kurgan in the west of the city and in the Luzanovka area. There were also reports of explosions in the port area. The headquarters of the operational command “South” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is located there, but there have been no reports of arrivals directly there.
🔴In Kharkov, energy infrastructure facilities were also struck. The city administration later reported 20 powerful arrivals. Before this, strikes were recorded at the Elektrotyazhmash plant (which produced turbo and hydrogenerators, as well as high-power power machines) and at the local CHPP-5. Also, according to some reports, the Zmievskaya State District Power Plant was damaged.
🔴The Dnieper Hydroelectric Station was hit the hardest during the raid. Apparently, the attack profile of the cruise missiles was designed so that the hits would hit one of the two turbine rooms of the energy facility. According to some reports, before striking, the cruise missiles made two circles, confusing the air defense system.
🔴In Zaporozhye, about ten missile strikes were carried out on energy and military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
🔴A massive missile strike was also carried out on the Kanatovo airfield near Kropyvnytskyi (Kirovograd), on Kremenchug, some objects in the Cherkasy region, as well as the Starokonstantinov airfield in the Khmelnytsky region. Previously, the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force was based there. From there, Su-24 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force flew out to use Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles. Several substations were also destroyed by the strike.
🔴Strikes were also recorded in the Ternopil region. Presumably, he flew to the 777th separate logistics regiment in Berezhany. Also several arrivals in Cherkassy. Presumably, the 2320th center for providing automotive equipment and property, as well as the 2183rd center for providing fuel to military unit A4167, were hit. Next to them is also the 3rd ammunition arsenal (military unit A3177).
