🔻The situation in the Orenburg region remains difficult due to flooding. In the east of the region, in particular in Orsk and the surrounding area, the peak of the flood has passed, but the damage is truly colossal.

▪️The southern outskirts of Orsk, adjacent to the Urals , were flooded with water almost to the roofs of houses. Damage to infrastructure is estimated at more than 20 billion rubles.

▪️According to the morning of April 10, the water level in the Urals in Orsk was 904 cm, and yesterday at 23.00 it was 907 cm, at 18.00 - 914 cm. A similar decrease was noted in the tributaries of the Urals.

▪️There is also a decrease in water in Novotroitsk . Now the level is around 850 cm. The water is decreasing, although this is still a critical level and many streets remain flooded.

🔻The most dangerous situation is in Orenburg and in the Orenburg region, where the level of the Urals has reached 996 cm . And in the next 24 hours, this value is predicted to increase by 30-70 cm.

▪️The number of flooded streets is growing, especially in residential areas and communities near the Urals. There is a similar picture on many streets in the southern districts of Orenburg, but thanks to equipped embankments, the water can be contained.

▪️At the same time, some residential buildings have heating problems. An unprecedented number of people and equipment were deployed to help the population.

❗️The greatest problem for the region is the environmental situation . The water that came out of the riverbeds flooded many cemeteries and burial grounds, as well as garbage dumps—an increase in various diseases was recorded in Orsk.

In addition to residential properties, medium and small businesses, as well as urban transport, suffered damage. Restoration will require billions of rubles of investment and compensation.

We must not forget about the investigation into the causes of what happened: the version with rodents on the dam looks divorced from reality. And the most obvious, even judging by the footage, is a construction defect .
