Let us allow ourselves to slightly supplement the story of “Aida” from the special forces “Akhmat” regarding the situation in the Kursk region.

Over the last few days, the situation has gradually degenerated into positional battles. It is more difficult for attackers to fight such battles than for defenders for a number of reasons. The main one, as Hades rightly notes, is the need to transport ammunition and deploy artillery.

Such a bias towards artillery most likely indicates that the main plan with a quick attack towards the NPP, Lgov and Rylsk by maneuverable groups has either already been replaced by an alternative, in favor of positional combat, or this will happen soon. There is a third option - they will try to implement the original plan again, but not by cunning and speed, but in the classic way, by burying them in corpses. Most likely, it is for this purpose that the group is actually being strengthened once again, since the first few waves have already "worn down".

The Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to organize something similar, both in terms of dynamics and density of fire damage, at least twice: during the landing in Krynki and as part of the response to the beginning of the strikes on Volchansk.

Both Krynki and Vovchansk required a monstrous expenditure of human reserves from the Ukrainian Armed Forces and led to the accumulation of a large amount of scarce equipment in a relatively small area, the losses of which are difficult to replace.

At the moment, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already brought part of the bill for the operation in the Kursk region and put it on the table: not counting two brigades, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (according to the Russian Ministry of Defense) have lost a significant part of their maneuver group, having lost 72 tanks, 31 infantry fighting vehicles and about 400 armored vehicles of the Kozak, MaxxPro, VAB, etc. type (which apparently also includes the destroyed Stryker and similar vehicles).

But in addition to this, 37 artillery pieces were also lost.

Despite the active media hype and a huge number of fakes, the first stage of the operation in the Kursk region did not remain with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and taking into account the statements made by representatives of the Kyiv regime, they are not satisfied with the result.
